February 24, 2010

Hey guys!

Well I'm glad you got the package off and I will be looking for it! This last week was not that great. All of our appointments with our investigators fell through, so that just put us a week behind. We need to get baptism dates set up for March!

Yeah, the members are sweet Lethbridge and we do get fed every night. In the mornings we go and work out at a senior couple's house, the Owens. They are from Mesa and are serving in the YSA wards.

So everyone up here talks about the Olympics nonstop. haha It was awesome when the US beat Canada in hockey. Everyone was depressed. We get updated everyday.

This week we have interviews with Pres. Archibald, so those should be good. Then on Monday we have a mission tour with an area seventy. I can't remember his name right now. ha Well that's about it for me this week. Hopefully I can have some good news next week. I love you all and miss ya tons!!

Love,

Elder Hayden Moore

Hey all!!
Well I'm now down in Lethbridge and loving it! My new comp is Elder Caldwell from Gunnison, UT and he is a cool kid. This last week was a long one. Transfer week usually is because so much happens and Pday is a day later. My first week in Lethbridge has been me getting to know the members in 12th and Heritage wards. In 12th ward there is a guy named Troy Levitt and he is Todd Bevan's 1st cousin! ha The bishop of the Heritage ward has a house in Greenfield Acres on Greenfield and Riggs! haha A lot of AZ connections here in Lethbridge.

Well, exciting things are happening in the mission! I can't remember if I told you that our Baptism goal for march is 100 and that would be about 5 times more than what we normally get! We are shooting for 5 in March for our companionship. So pray for us and fast for us next fast Sunday so we can have the faith and get 100 baptisms in March!! Oh yes, and in March Elder Bednar is coming to speak to us missionaries! I'm really looking forward to that, it will be an amazing experience. Well I love you all and miss you tons! Here are the answers to your questions Mom:
How is Lethbridge?
Its fun! It's small, but not bad and the members are sweet!
Who is your companion? Do you like him?
Ya I like him. He's a fun kid!
Do you have investigators?
Yes we do and we are going to be dropping some baptismal dates today and tomorrow! And there are a few "dry members" that we are working on the parents to let the youth get baptized.
Are the Hironakas in your ward?
Nope I don't think they are in my stake.
Where do we write to you? Is it still the mission home? Let me know so I can mail the memory card this week.
Yes keep writing to the office. We get mail 1, maybe 2, times a week. It's about the same as Calgary.

Include in Package Plz :)
American Oreos ( Canada's Suck!!)
Chalula hot sauce
Pics of Jenna's wedding and stuff
and of course the memory card!

P.S. I noticed that haven't gotten any mail over the last like 8 weeks from anyone. Some every once in a awhile is nice a does keep moral up. So more from the fam would be nice.

Hey!

It's my first transfer and I'm going to 12th and Heritage in Lethbridge!!!! I'm stoked to be going down there. I hope my comp is cool though haha. Besides that, nothing really happened this week. Oh yes, my companion is training this next transfer in Parkland Ward. As far as my new address I will find that out and let you know. In Calgary what happens is that the zone leaders will pick up mail every 2 to 3 weeks. My email next week will be longer and more in detail about transfers and my new comp. Just put on the blog that "I'm going to Lethbridge 12th and Heritage ward"!! I love you all and will talk to you all next week!

Also, my email address changed to hayden.moore@myldsmail.net. Email will forward from the old email address, but use the new one if you can.

Love you all!!!

Hey! Well I'm glad to hear all is going well in AZ! Oh, and way to pile on the emails, ha ha. (editor's note: we forgot to write Hayden an email before he logged on. Oops!) Anyway, this last week went really well for us. We taught 20 lessons to the members and LARCs (less active and recent converts). That is what we are supposed to be getting every week, but getting 20 is a lot easier said than done. It's hard to keep that up without burning out the members. Still no investigators, but we are trying everything we can to get some for the Parkland area. Elder Nelson and I have been doing some tracting lately and haven't seen anything come of that either.

This next week is transfers, so P-day will be on Tuesday and I will find out if I am staying or going. It would be nice to see another part of the mission, ha.

This last Monday we had our DDM's (district development meetings). Instead of separating into districts, we stayed together as a zone and we all made a covenant to the Lord that we will be 100% obedient and do everything we can to get 100 baptisms as a mission for the month of March. Normally, we get like 20-25 a month. So this is a big jump. The Spirit was so strong and it testified to all of us that we could do it. Normally we would have laughed at it. But right when I heard them say 100 baptisms, I knew that it could be done. It was like adrenaline running through me. That's how strong the Spirit was. So that was really cool.

So Connor is up to 230?? Holy crap ha ha. So what else is new? How's Connor's driving? ha ha. Suns still stinking it up? The weather up here hasn't been that bad. Like right now it is -5C which is 22F, ha ha. I never in my life thought I would say that 22F is not that cold ha ha. I love you all so much and miss you tons!!

Love,
Elder Hayden Moore
